LEVENS PARISH COUNCIL ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT – FURTHER INFORMATION
Accessibility:
Providing an accessible website means that we want as many people as possible to be able to use it. For example, that means you should be able to:
• Zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen.
• Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard or Touchpad.
• Listen to most of the website using a screen reader
• Use ‘read aloud’ to read documents on the website.
• Use screen readers to explain what alternative description a meaningful image holds.
• Read all text which has good levels of contrast between text and background colours.
We’ve tried to create a site which doesn’t get in the way when you change these settings.
How we run this site
• The website is mobile and tablet friendly
• We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand. We try to write in plain English and avoid council jargon.
• Headings and page structure - our site uses simple heading structures to make it easier to navigate.
For further information on how to adapt your phone or your computer for accessibility purposes, please go to https://mcmw.abilitynet.org.uk/
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. For example, we do not plan to fix some older PDFs.
Any new PDFs we publish will meet accessibility standards.
Pictures of events or information posters, when provided by a third party – where possible we include the information from the picture within the web page’s text.
Reporting accessibility problems with our website
We’re always looking to improve the accessibility of this website. If you have difficulty in accessing any of the documents, can't read the print, or if something doesn't make sense, please let us know at clerk@levens-pc.gov.uk (or telephone 07388-920410) for any of the following:
• If you find any problems not listed on this page or think we’re not meeting accessibility requirements
• If you need information on this website in a different format like accessible PDF, large print, easy read, audio recording or braille or
• If you need further assistance.
