Breaking News - The Local Plan
Planning Authorities such as Westmorland and Furness Council are required by law to have up-to-date Local Plans. These are essential planning documents which set out local planning policies for now, and the future.
Westmorland and Furness Council is launching a Scoping Consultation with its communities and stakeholders to run from 1 July 2026 until 11 August 2026. This is the start of the process to create a new Local Plan. It wishes to involve as many people as possible to enable it to deliver a Local Plan that is fair to everyone and which helps to make Westmorland and Furness a great place to live, work and thrive. Represents You
The Parish Council gives views on planning applications and other proposals that affect the parish. It also alerts relevant authorities to problems that arise or work that needs to be undertaken.
Manages Local Projects
The Parish Council undertakes projects and schemes that benefit local residents.
Forges Partnerships
The Parish Council works in partnership with other bodies to achieve benefits for the parish.
Communicates With You
The Parish Council helps the other tiers of local government keep in touch with their local communities.
